Nash Community College (NCC) recognizes the importance of a person's right to know about matters that could impact their safety while at the college. The college further recognizes the necessity of providing information about campus crime and security to current and prospective students as well as to current and prospective employees of the college. Therefore, in accordance with the Campus Security Act of 1990 and the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act of 1998 (referred to as the "Clery Act"), NCC publishes a Campus Security Report in October of each year. Notification of the report is distributed to all current and prospective students, as well as to all current and prospective employees through the College Catalog, website, and employment application. (Note: The College Safety Committee reviews of all campus security policies and procedures. This review is coordinated through the office of the Vice President of Administration Services.)
NCC is committed to maintaining a safe, healthy, positive work and learning environment. The policies, procedures, and statements provided in the Campus Security Report 2013 have been adopted by the college in compliance with federal and state mandates and in a good faith effort to ensure the health and safety of all members of the campus community.
NCC Emergency Plan
Click Here for the full NCC Emergency Plan. This plan is to be of assistance at the time of a crisis for faculty, staff, students and visitors of the Nash Community College campus. Familiarize yourself with the basic contents of this plan and keep it readily available for quick reference in a time of emergency. It is the responsibility of all faculty and staff to ensure order is maintained, head counts are taken, and in the event of evacuations proceed to exterior safe zones away from the building.
In the event of a fire or physical threat, students with mobility impairments are to go with or without assistance to the nearest stairwell area. Faculty and staff will assist with evacuation efforts until the local fire or rescue personnel arrive on the scene.
Evacuation maps are located in each Nash Community College classroom, at exit doors and in hallways.
