The Salon

Nash Community College’s newly renovated state-of-the-art salon is located in building C, room 3205. The facility is open to the public and offers a true salon experience for clients seeking superior hair and nail care. The salon features 30 client care stations, interactive display technology and DiscoveryPro inventory management software. Services are provided exclusively by students under the supervision of faculty certified by the North Carolina State Board as cosmetology instructors and licensed cosmetologists. Monday & Tuesday - 9:15am-2:30pm, 7:00-10:00pm
Wednesday - 9:15am-2:30pm, 6:30-10:00pm
Thursday - 9:00am-12:00pm, 1:00pm-3:00pm, 6:30-10:00pm
Friday - 8:00am-12:30pm

Cosmetology Program

The Cosmetology program is designed to provide competency-based knowledge of scientific and artistic principles, as well as hands-on fundamentals. The curriculum provides a simulated salon environment enabling you to develop hands-on skills. Course work includes instruction in all phases of professional imaging, hair design, chemical processes, skin care, nail care, multi-cultural practices, business/computer principles, product knowledge, and other selected topics.

The cosmetology curriculum is designed to provide competency-based knowledge, scientific/artistic principles, and hands-on fundamentals associated with the cosmetology industry. The curriculum provides a simulated salon environment which enables students to develop manipulative skills. Course work includes instruction in all phases of professional imaging, hair design, chemical processes, skin care, nail care, multi-cultural practices, business/computer principles, product knowledge, and other selected topics. Graduates should qualify to sit for the State Board of Cosmetic Arts examination. After passing the State Board exam, graduates will be issued a license. Employment is available in beauty salons and related businesses.
