In 1981, I was a 38 year-old mother with a high school diploma. Nash Community College was gracious enough to bring a two-year college transfer program to rural southeastern Warren County. As a result, I received an Associate in General Education degree and transferred to North Carolina Wesleyan College where I was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. Next, I entered graduate school and continued my education and earned a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. I am proud to say that my dream of receiving a college education was made possible through the generosity of Nash Community College.
