The Practical Nursing curriculum prepares individuals with the knowledge and skills to provide nursing care to children and adults. The Practical Nursing (PN) program is a three (3) semester program of study which leads to a one-year Diploma. Courses will include content related to the Practical Nurse's role in participating in assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care.
Graduates of this program are eligible to apply to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN) which is required for practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Employment opportunities include hospitals,rehabilitation/long term care/home health facilities, clinics, and physicians’ offices.
The Practical Nursing program requires students to complete a program application. Applications must be submitted to the Health Sciences Department by February 1, 2013.
