Nash Community College has a cooperative agreement with ECU's Joyner Library allowing NCC students, faculty and staff to access ECU's Joyner Library databases when visiting the ECU campus. Borrower's cards will be provided free of charge to currently registered NCC students and currently employed faculty and staff and will be valid for a period of one academic semester. To obtain a borrower's card at the ECU library, photo identification and verification issued by NCC of current enrollment/application status are required.
The Library at Nash Community College houses a continually growing collection of print and visual resources which have been selected to enrich programs offered by the College. Facilities are provided to students for research, study, reading, listening and viewing that enhance and supplement class instruction. In addition, the Library serves the recreational interests of students, faculty, staff, and the community.
Expanded and renovated in 1996, the Library provides seating for 186 persons in a spacious, comfortable, well-lighted area easily accessible from all campus buildings. The mezzanine, located away from the hub of activity, is designated for quiet study and also serves as the site for GED testing. Three conference rooms are available for group study and meetings.
The collection of 42,000 books is accessed via a computerized catalog. WebCat is the public access point to the catalog, and, in addition to the College's book collection, allows viewing of the library holdings of North Carolina community colleges.
Online resources are available in the Library and off-site. NC-LIVE and the Gale Group(Literary) offer a broad range of information that is available only by subscription.
NC-LIVE, an acronym for North Carolina Libraries for Virtual Education, is a partnership of North Carolina's libraries that provides access to a vast world of informational and educational resources. A conglomerate of more than 40 separate and unique databases, NC-LIVE is a gateway to articles and publications from magazines, newspapers, scholarly/professional journals, and a variety of reference sources.
