Human Resources Development (HRD) is a dynamic and vital workforce development component which promotes community and economic development by focusing on meeting customer needs. HRD classes serve as a gateway for proven economic, social, and educational success. HRD classes are designed to educate and train unemployed and underemployed individuals for success in the workplace.
Goals of HRD
The major goals of the HRD program are to assist individuals in obtaining meaningful employment and training opportunities, reduce dependency in welfare and unemployment insurance payments, increase self-sufficiency, enhance and develop educational skills, and upgrade the job skill level of individuals.
The fee for HRD courses can be waived for qualified participants. Qualified participants are unemployed, have been notified of a layoff, or are underemployed. An underemployed person is someone who earns below the Federal Earned Income Tax Credit amount.

After a twenty-year career, I needed a change that offered more stability and security. Nash Community College has variety, friendly people and came highly recommended. I enrolled in their machining program because it is only one of four in North Carolina certified by the National Institute for Metalworking Skills. I know I made the right decision for my family.
