(Rocky Mount, NC) Spring Hope Volunteer Fire Department Chief David Shelton recently presented a $300 gift to the Nash Community College Foundation Executive Director Pat Daniels, NCC President Bill Carver and NCC Fire and Health Services Director Shannon Orndorff in support of the Nash Community College Fire and Health Services program and the college's Public Safety Training Facility.

The college's Fire and Health Services program provides emergency services training for individuals and local agencies such as fire and rescue organizations, emergency medical service providers and healthcare facilities. The NCC Public Safety Training Facility is a two-story laboratory used for training Fire and Health Services students and local emergency services personnel. The laboratory provides a controlled setting for fire and rescue exercises including entry, rescue, suppression and ventilation. It is the only two-story training facility of its kind in North Carolina.
