NCC Foundation Annual Scholarship Campaign Underway Print E-mail

(Rocky Mount, NC) For over four decades, students have come to Nash Community College to learn, train, or retrain for new careers. During the past year, more than 13,000 full-time and part-time students enrolled in degree, diploma, certificate and continuing education programs at Nash Community College. Many of these students are contributing to the local workforce and economy and are where they are today because of a Nash Community College Foundation Scholarship.

The 2010 NCC Foundation Scholarship Campaign provides critical resources for need-based and merit-based scholarships to help students on the path to a college education and a successful career. The college is experiencing record enrollment resulting in more students seeking financial assistance from the NCC Foundation Scholarship Program. Financial donations from the community are what make the difference in a student's life because more than half the students enrolled at NCC do not qualify for other forms of financial aid.

"With only 35% of students eligible for federal aid, that leaves a significant number of the over 3000 students that Nash Community College serves each semester with little or no financial assistance," said 2010 NCC Foundation Scholarship Campaign Chair Steve Felton. "The other 65% of deserving students should have an opportunity to receive help with their educational needs as well."

The NCC Foundation is seeking financial contributions during the 2010 annual scholarship campaign. Campaign Chair Steve Felton and the Nash Community College Foundation Board of Directors invite the community to join in their efforts to make a difference for the students who will ultimately impact our community's future.
