9/11 Remembrance Ceremony (10:00AM - 11:00AM)
9/11 Remembrance Ceremony Tuesday, September 11, 2012 10:00 am NCC Business & Industry Center Flagpole
The NCC Student Government Association invites students, faculty and staff to the 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony with guest speakers Sgt. Carlos Ricks from the Nash County Sheriff’s Office and Nashville Fire Chief Randy Goodbrod. Light refreshments will be served in the Brown Auditorium following the ceremony.

Tar River Reads Book Discussion (12:00PM - 1:00PM)
Tar River Reads is a one book, one community program in its second year. Book clubs, students at Nash Community College and NC Wesleyan, and members of the community at large will be reading Walking Across Egypt by Clyde Edgerton during September.
Events held on the Nash Community College campus include:
- A brown bag book discussion on September 12 from 12:00-1:00 pm in the library. Bring your lunch and meet with other staff, faculty, and students to discuss the book.
- A breakfast discussion on September 19 from 9:00-10:00 for a second opportunity to discuss the book.
- A movie presentation of "Walking Across Egypt" starring Ellen Burstyn and Jonathan Taylor Thomas followed by a comparison of the book and movie versions.
