Nash Community College’s public relations and marketing team recently was recognized by the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) for excellence during a conference in Nashville, Tenn. The team, consisting of Senior Director of Marketing and Communication, Kelley Deal, and Director of Media Production, Andrew Small, was awarded two gold medallion awards and one silver award for their work during the 2013-2014 academic year.

A gold medallion award went to the College’s Social Media Design, specifically the college’s Facebook presence. The College is constantly active across several social media platforms, including Instagram, a photo sharing site, and Twitter, a site which uses 140 characters to promote information.

A second gold medallion was awarded for a College Promotional Video which featured the importance of scholarships for deserving students and the new Continuing Education and Public Services Building which is slated to open in the Spring of 2015.

The silver medallion award was earned for the College’s 2013-2014 Community Report. The annual magazine features stories, features and photos about Nash Community College. The magazine was also recognized by NCMPR in 2013 with a bronze medallion award.

“This is exciting,” said Small. “We know we do good work here at Nash, as is evident by the community interactions we have regarding our marketing efforts, not to mention the continued growth of Nash semester after semester. But to be recognized by a national organization with hundreds of member schools, including some campuses ten times the size of NCC in student population, is just a great feeling. Having our work recognized nationally helps to bring NCC to a wider audience and showcase the great work our College does.”

“Every marketer’s dream is to have a great story to tell. And we are lucky to have such an asset in Nash Community College,” said Deal. “Each day we see lives changed on campus because of the impact of education and training received here. Our job in the marketing department is to tell the incredible story and it is a privilege not only to disseminate an important message, but to be recognized for doing it well.”

“Through our team’s hard work, the community and surrounding areas can see first-hand the great things happening at Nash Community College,” said Dr. Bill Carver, President of Nash Community College. “We are so proud to have Kelley and Andrew on the NCC team.”
