Small Business Customer Service Seminar a Success

It is presumed that a customer will return to a store providing the best deal and the highest degree of personal service. This basic principle along with the self-reflective question, “Is your business known for these traits?” are two of the components that attracted future and existing entrepreneurs to the “Developing a Customer Service Plan for Your Business” seminar held at the Nash Community College earlier this fall. Members of the surrounding community, as well as faculty, staff and students of the College attended to learn more about the subject from presenter, Tim Dannelly.

Dannelly grew up in coastal North Carolina and is experienced in many fields, such as management, sales, public relations, broadcast and entertainment. With three authored books credited to his name, Living the American DreamForgotten Fundamentals of Effective Leadership, and Selling the American Dream, and service in Vietnam and the US Air Force, Dannelly advised the audience on customer service knowledge acquired through his life pursuits. Discussed topics informed those present on how to identify and provide what your market wants, steps to helping employees develop customer centered thinking, how to embolden employees faced with aggressive competition, ways to motivate employees to encourage return business and more. “I found the presenter to be engaging, sharing elements of humor throughout the presentation. He really kept my attention,” stated Felicia Bunn, Nash Community College Cosmetology student and seminar attendee. Bunn attended the seminar in hopes of gaining skills in customer service, skills she deems invaluable for a business she strives to establish and operate.

“Customer service can make or break any size business. High quality customer service is crucial for success,” explained Fredrick Brooks, Nash Community College Director of Small Business and Occupational Education. “Developing a Customer Service Plan for Your Business” is just one of many informative seminars offered by the Small Business Center at Nash Community College at no admittance cost for those that wish to attend.  To view a schedule of upcoming seminars or events and to register for seminars or events, visit www.nashcc.edu/sbc.
