NCC students and employees are encouraged to bring their NCC photo ID card to the library service desk to establish library borrowing privileges. The NCC ID then becomes a library card for borrowing books and movies, renewing these items online, and requesting books from over 50 North Carolina community college libraries. NCC photo ID cards are made in the Student Services department in building A. NCC alumni and citizens of Nash County may borrow books and movies from the Library. A government-issued photo identification card is required to apply for a Library Card.

Computer Lab

The Library computer lab provides technology for student success. Public patrons from Nash County are also welcome. Software includes Microsoft Office Suite, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, InDesign, Blender, Unity, and Unreal Engine and a variety of web browsers are available. Patrons may print from computers in the Library computer lab. Webcams and headphones may be borrowed from the service desk.

Library Collections

The Library’s Collection Development Plan documents the priorities for the acquisition of new books, films, digital collections, and other learning resources.

Digital Collections

The NCC Library provides 24/7 access to ebooks, audiobooks, full-text articles in academic journals and newspapers, images, films, videos, and other online learning resources. Use the Related Links menu to access online resources. Some of these resources are open access while others require a NCC username and password. Some State Library of North Carolina resources require a State Library Card, follow instructions to apply online.

NCC students, faculty, staff, and community patrons may also request a Libby account for access to a curated digital collection of ebooks and audiobooks. After an account is established, download the free Libby app to borrow and read/listen to books on preferred devices; smartphones, tablets, or computers. Patrons may recommend books to add to the collection through the Libby website or the Libby app.

This letter, along with an NCC photo ID card, is required when completing a borrower’s application at ECU and NCWU.
