This interactive online program provides the training you need to master these highly valuable skills and participate effectively in credible Six Sigma programs. By completing this program, students will be able to: recognize key attributes of a successful Six Sigma program, appreciate project selection criteria, realize the role of a Green Belt in the Six Sigma organization, understand fundamentals of the DMAIC problem-solving methodology, apply basic Six Sigma tools for Six Sigma project definition and process baseline, including statistical process control (SPC) and understand and apply Lean concepts to identify and remove waste, and improve value to the customer. Learn how to effectively apply the elements and methods of Six Sigma. Understand how more than 25 tools and methods relate to the DMAIC (define, measure, analyze, improve, and control) model.
This course is designed to provide the student with hands-on knowledge of engine rebuilding techniques to manufacturer's specifications. The student will learn how to completely disassemble engines and check for manufacturer's specifications and reassemble. Emphasis will be placed on the proper use of special tools and testing equipment. Upon completion students will be able to explain operating principles of engines, name major parts of engines, work safely in the shop, explain how force work and torque are related to horsepower, define horsepower, list and explain combustion chamber designs, properly run rack, time injectors, adjust values, and adjust governors.
This course provides an introduction to understanding, speaking, reading, and writing Spanish. Emphasis is placed on pronunciation, parts of speech, communicative phrases, culture, and skills for language acquisition. Upon completion, students should be able to identify and apply basic grammar concepts, display cultural awareness, and communicate simple Spanish phrases.
Students receive instruction in the art of stained glass making. Students use copper foil methods and gain practice in drafting patterns, cutting glass, grinding and soldering the glass together. Safety tips are discussed, as well as the common tools used. Students will complete a project(s) in class. Supplies not included.

Students will discover the neurobiology behind these disorders and the way it affects students' behavior, learning, and thinking. Most important, students will learn creative, easy, low-budget strategies to help these kids succeed in the classroom and beyond. Develop the skills to counter these students' social awkwardness, sensory sensitivities, meltdowns, problems with homework completion, language reciprocity issues, and violent fixations. Even if you don't have a student with high-functioning autism or Asperger's Syndrome in your class this year, these strategies will equip you to deal with any student who exhibits these characteristics on a regular basis.
This course provides employability skills training for unemployed and underemployed adults. The curriculum framework must address each of the six core HRD components. Instruction is designed to be self-directed, self-paced, and structured on an open-entry, open-exit basis to meet the customized needs of individuals and/or partner agencies at JobLink (One-Stop) Career Centers. This course is designed for instructional areas related to a veterinarian practice: 1) veterinary terminology, 2) anatomy and physiology, 3) animal behavior and communication, 4) grooming techniques, 5) proper handling and restraining of animals, 6) obtaining and handling specimens, 7) emergency care, and 8) office management in reference to medical records, charting, and detailed documentation may be included.
This course provides an introduction to web development software suites. Topics include the creation of web sites and applets using web development software. Upon completion, students should be able to create entire web sites and supporting applets.
This course provides instruction on the principles and practices of welding. Emphasis is on the blueprint reading, metallurgy, welding inspection, and destructive and non-destructive testing. Course content will be specific to a particular welding process such as SMAW (stick), GMAW (MIG), and GTAW (TIG). Upon completion, students will have the knowledge base to sit for various industry-specific certifications.
In this course, Chef Frank will give a presentation overview of the history of pizza-making and the regions from which they originate. Students will learn how to make pizza dough by hand, roll and toss pizza dough, as well as create several pizza sauces. Pizzas will be cooked in NCC's own wood-fired pizza oven. Supplies included. This course helps you develop the same story structuring skills the pros use. Discover how viewpoint, dialogue, pacing, and many other techniques are used to build scenes and move your story from beginning to end. Understand how your passion, theme, premise, and characters help you create the structure of your story. Each assignment in this course helps you develop your own original novel or story. As you apply each technique, your story will take shape, with a clear path from beginning to end.
This course is great for those who have never tried yoga as well as more seasoned participants. Students will be introduced to the basic principles of yoga, proper breathing, relaxation techniques, and correct yoga positions. Bring a yoga mat, towel, and water bottle.
