Advanced Street Gang Investigations
September 18-20, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day, Continuing Education & Public Services Building, Room 8123. Seats 70 students.
This course will provide advanced level Street Gang Investigations training for sworn street gang investigators, detention officers, corrections officers, intelligence analysts, security threat group investigators and other law enforcement personnel assigned to gang investigations who have had two or more years of experience in the field. Successful completion of this course requires attendance at all instructional sessions. After successful completion of the course the student will be awarded a Certificate of Completion from the North Carolina Gang Investigators Association. Course topics include:
- Intelligence (Gang Intelligence Review, 28 CFR Part 23, Information Resources, Role of Intelligence Analysis)
- Investigations (Legal/jurisdictional Issues, Obstacles and Problems, Gang Crimes, Complex Investigations)
- Suppression Strategies and Tactics (Current Trends and Best Practices for Law Enforcement and Corrections, Community Partnerships)
- Practical Exercises
Enrollment in this course is restricted to Law Enforcement Officers and Criminal Justice Professionals. This class is free to Law Enforcement Officers and Criminal Justice Professionals that fit the criteria in the Tuition and Fee Waivers of G.S. Chapter 115B-1(3).
