All classes are Hybrid Blended except the NAII Traditional (MTW). Blended Hybrid means a portion of the class is online (lecture portion, unit test, etc. and the class still meets face-to-face (in person) to learn the required skills.
Clinical sites may require the Covid-19 vaccine and/or a medical/religious waiver has to be submitted. Criminal background /immunization records checks are required to attend clinical.
NAI and NAII clinical days and hours are the same as class days and hours unless otherwise specified.
Explanation of a Blended (formally called Hybrid): When a class is listed as a blended that means that there is no lecture component (part) to the class. Students study the textbook on their own (study guides are provided) and all major tests except the final exam are taken online. Students have to come to class to learn and practice skill and have to attend clinical. During class students may ask questions about anything in the textbook they do not understand and instructors will demonstrate and explain skills before they are performed by the students. But the vast majority of time in the classroom is spent on mastering NAI skills. At the end of a blended there is a written final exam that is taken at NCC and a skills final exam that is also taken at NCC.
Please note: proper term used by the state of N.C. to describe this certification.
- Nurse Aide I (NAI) is the same as a CNA (certified nursing assistant). Nurse Aide I is the
- All of our NAI classes are blended
Per N.C. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) regulations, a student must be 16.5 years old on or before the day that the NAI class starts. There is no leeway on this, not even a day.
