Rocky Mount, NC - For 44 years, Nash Community College has helped local business and industry see a bigger bottom line by providing no-cost, industry-specific training to eligible companies. The Nash Community College Customized Training Program helps organizations create jobs, investing in new machinery and equipment, train existing and new employees and streamline processes for efficiency. During 2010-2011, the NCC Customized Industry Training program provided customized job training to 531 individuals at 10 companies for a total of $164,500, or $310 per trainee, invested by the State.

"By preparing our workforce with the skills essential for success, we enhance a company's competitiveness," Nash Community College's Dean of Economic and Workforce Development Wendy Marlowe said. "We also realize that companies consider a well-trained workforce a crucial component when deciding where to relocate or expand."

Nash Community College's Customized Industry Training program is often called in to assess a company's needs and provide instructional design, development and delivery. "With our team of experts, we create customized media development, including process manuals, orientation and process DVDs and interactive learning solutions. We offer a proven design process that our clients implement: one that ensures the development of high-quality learning solutions including classroom, lab and on-the-job training, and computer-based interactive programs and immersive 3-D simulation," she said.

Working with our economic and workforce development partners, NCC's Customized Industry Training Program assists companies through the initial recruitment, personalized screening and customized training processes.
