Overview
The Sage CDL training program at Nash Community College prepares students for Class A or B commercial driver’s licenses with up to 158 hours of comprehensive training, including classroom, lab, and one-on-one driving practice. The curriculum covers safety, laws, pre-trip inspections, driving skills and more.

Program Information
Nash Community College currently offers:
- CDL Class A: Required to operate any combination of commercial vehicles with a gross combination weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 pounds or more.
- CDL Class B: Required to operate any single vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 26,001 pounds or more.
- CDL Refresher Training

Program Requirements
To begin training all students must provide:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Social Security Card
- DOT Physical
- Motor Vehicle Record
- Pass a DOT Drug Screen
- Ability to speak, read and write in English
- For Class B- The permit is required
