Nash Community College is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Wendy Cook as the new Vice President of Student Access and Success, effective June 1. Dr. Cook currently serves as the Dean of Student Access and Enrollment and brings nearly two decades of experience in education to her expanded leadership role.
“I am deeply honored to serve as Vice President of Student Access and Success at NCC,” said Dr. Cook. “Community colleges play an essential role in the lives of students and the communities we serve. I look forward to continuing our work to remove barriers and ensure every student has the support and resources they need to thrive from their first point of contact through completion.”
Since joining NCC in August 2023, Dr. Cook has led the Student Access and Enrollment division, overseeing critical areas such as Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Recruitment, Enrollment Management, Registration and Records, Placement Testing, and Veteran’s Affairs. Her leadership has been instrumental in enhancing the student onboarding experience and strengthening enrollment services college-wide.
Before joining NCC, Dr. Cook served at Wake Technical Community College and began her career in education as an English teacher in secondary education. She transitioned to higher education administration in 2007 and has since dedicated her career to advancing student success and access in the community college sector.
Dr. Cook received her Doctorate in Community College Leadership from Old Dominion University. She holds a Master of Science in Counselor Education from East Carolina University and a Bachelor of Science in Middle Grades Education from North Carolina State University.
