Continuing Education

Education provided for adults after they have left the formal education system, consisting typically of short or part-time courses.

The Continuing Education Department provides adults with quality and convenient learning opportunities consistent with identified student needs. Courses are designed to assist in the following areas:

  • Upgrading or retraining employed individuals
  • Providing cultural awareness
  • Preparing for entry into an occupation
  • Providing self-improvement opportunities

The broad areas of Continuing Education are Adult Education, Workforce Development, Small Business Center, Public Safety Services, Occupational Skills Training, and Professional Training.

Any person eighteen years of age or older may register for a continuing Education class. High School students between the ages of 16 and 18 years of age who wish to take a continuing Education courses are required to complete a Dual Enrollment Form and pay the registration fee. Dual Enrollment forms should be obtained from a high school counselor. Prior to the beginning of each quarter, a course schedule is published and made available to potential students. Courses that begin between quarters are announced through local news media.


Tuition fees are set by the State Board of community Colleges and are subject to change. the cost of self-supporting courses varies according to the number of students enrolled and the materials needed. Some classes may require textbook & supply cost.

Refund Policy

For classes that are scheduled to meet four times or less, a 75% refund shall be made upon the request of the student if the student officially withdraws form the class(es) prior to or on the first day of class(es).

For classes that are scheduled to meet five or more times, a 75% refund shall be made upon the request of the student if the student officially withdraws from the class(es) prior to or on the official 10% point of the classes(es). Request for refunds will not be considered after the 10% point.

For contact hour classes, ten calendar days from the first day of the class(es), is the determination date.

At the time of official withdrawal under this policy, the college shall notify the student of the right to receive a refund.
