Nash Community College Welcomes Brian Hutson to Board of Trustees

Nash Community College has announced the appointment of Brian Hutson to its Board of Trustees, bringing with him a strong background in business, community service and youth development. Hutson was appointed by the Nash County Board of Commissioners.

Hutson has served as an independent insurance agent since 2004 and is co-owner of Hedgepeth-Hutson Insurance Services Inc., which he operates alongside his wife. In addition to his professional experience, he has been actively involved in the community for more than two decades, including coaching youth athletics and mentoring students.

He currently serves as an eighth-grade basketball coach at Rocky Mount Academy and has coached multiple sports over the past 25 years, demonstrating a longstanding commitment to supporting and developing young people.

Hutson also has an established connection to NCC through his involvement with the NCC Foundation, where he has served for the past five years, including three years as president.

Hunnicutt, president of NCC. “His leadership experience, dedication to youth development and longstanding commitment to our community will be valuable assets as we continue to support student success and strengthen our impact across the region.” 

“I have always had a drive to help support our local youth and see them grow and become productive citizens in our community,” said Hutson. “I look forward to serving Nash Community College and helping enrich the lives of all students who pass through the halls.”

Brian has a passion for education and working with the youth,” said Russell Proctor, NCC Board of Trustees chair. “He also currently serves on the Board of the Nash Community College Foundation where he has served as the President for the past three years.”

The NCC Board of Trustees plays a vital role in ensuring the college continues to meet the educational and workforce needs of Nash County and the surrounding region.
