Nash Community College will host a Career and College Promise (CCP) Information Session on March 24 at 5:30 p.m. in the Science and Technology Building, Room 7104 on campus.

The session is open to middle and high school students and their families who are interested in learning more about CCP, North Carolina’s dual enrollment program that allows eligible students to earn college credits tuition-free while still in high school.

CCP provides students with the opportunity to accelerate their educational goals, explore career pathways and gain early exposure to college coursework in a supportive environment.

During the information session, attendees will learn about:

  • CCP eligibility requirements
  • College Transfer and Career and Technical Education pathways
  • Application steps and deadlines
  • Academic expectations and student support services
  • How CCP courses can save time and money toward a future degree!

“CCP opens doors for students to challenge themselves academically while earning college credit,” said Dr. Wendy Cook, vice president of student services at NCC. “We encourage families to attend this session to better understand how CCP can provide a strong foundation for future academic and career success.”

“CCP gives students a powerful opportunity to get ahead while still in high school,” said Alyssa Womble, director of K-12 partnerships at Nash Community College. “Through CCP, students can explore career pathways, earn transferable college credit and build confidence in their academic abilities, all while saving time and money.”

CCP is designed to help students graduate high school with a head start on a college degree or workforce credential. Many students who participate in the program complete a full year (or more) of college credit before receiving their high school diploma.
